Didier Osindero

Leader

Didier is a postgraduate violinist at the Royal Northern College of Music. During his Bachelors degree at the RNCM (2017-2021), he studied under the tutelage of Yossi Zivoni. He is now undertaking postgraduate studies with his string quartet on the college’s Quartet Studio course. When he’s not playing classical music, Didier is a keen improviser and enjoys exploring both jazz and free improvisation.

Beginning violin lessons at age four, Didier decided on pursuing a musical career in his childhood. In 2015, he began studying at the Purcell School, gaining a wealth of performance experience through his involvement in the Purcell Symphony Orchestra and Contemporary Ensemble. During that time, he also attended the Junior Guildhall, going on to win the highly regarded Lutine Prize. This achievement would lead to an appearance on BBC Radio 3’s ‘In-Tune’ and a concerto performance at the prestigious Milton Court concert hall.

Since starting at the RNCM in 2017, Didier has been involved in numerous orchestral projects, with highlights including a performance of Stravinsky’s Firebird as the leader of the symphony orchestra and co-leading the RNCM Big Band Orchestra. Alongside his studies, Didier plays in the Chineke! Orchestra and has had the opportunity to perform in many of Europe’s most recognised venues as a member of the ensemble. In September 2017 he was thrilled to perform in the orchestra at the BBC Proms, and has been a player on three of their studio albums.

Didier also enjoys chamber music and is currently enrolled on a year-long intensive course at the RNCM with his quartet, the Levaré String Quartet. After the group formed in October 2017, they quickly developed a strong rapport and have since gone on to perform at numerous venues in Manchester including Whitworth Gallery, the RNCM Concert Hall and Gorton Monastery. Didier has also performed in the Chineke! Junior String Quartet and Chineke! Chamber Ensemble, with highlights including performances at Kensington Palace, Wigmore Hall and a live performance on BBC Radio 3.
